Barricade

Hey guys, just recently bought a Barricade. I'm hoping to get into some badass mods with it pretty soon, maybe even a clip mod. Just a bit of a review, its not the best gun on the planet or the most exciting, but nevertheless, it's my FIRST electric Nerf gun. :)

Modding a Nerf Recon CS-6

Hey guys, i wrote an article on removing the air restrictor in a Recon and just thought you might like to have a look at it. I haven't seen this method of doing it much but it too me is the simplest way and quickest too, that i have used on all the Recons I've modded even my friends'. I do hope to do write some more how-to's on mods I've done, probably the A.R ones though.

Here it is: http://quazen.com/shopping/consumer-electronics/how-to-mod-a-nerf-recon-cs-6/

My box of bits and bobs...

Here's my box of bits and bobs that I like to keep some of my stuff in.(oh yes that's only some of it) You can see there I have a nice collection of clips there all lined up. I make sure they're ALWAYS in line. There is two sides to a maverick, which kindly donated its barrel to the double barrel project. You may be wondering why its got half cut off, and, well the short answer is.... I'm working on something and when I finish it ill put up a post on it. But the rest off the stuff in there is pretty damn self explanatory though.

Spectre and Alpha Trooper :(

Hey guys,
I was literally that close to getting a spectre and aplha trooper this week. If you don't already know what the situation is in Australia then you've missed out on like a fifth of your 'Nerf Education' :P. Not really, but seriously, there is like a never-ending supply of Vulcan's and Stampede's and Recons are almost as common. In a normal Target or K-mart or Big-W etc. there's all of the above and a night finder and maybe even a maverick if you're lucky. I've rarely seen longstrike's and only ever had one chance at buying a Longshot(which i used well, of course). In the past few months, a lot of Target shops I've been in have had shelf tags for Spectre's and A.T's but nothing on the shelves, extremely dissapointing :(. I should also mention that recently, Barricades seem to have sprung up popping up in most K-marts and Targets, but, never-the-less, there you have it, the unacceptable situation regarding stocks of Nerf Guns in Australia.
'till next time. Bye.

Nerf Recon with intergrated tactical light

I set out on this project a while back. I was aiming to intergrate the tactical light that comes with the Recon CS-6, into the actual gun. I used the fake covered up hole below the barrel on the front of the gun, and holed it out. The small space between the clip and front end of the gun was the perfect housing for the light.
The light tube fitted perfectly. Almost like it was supposed to....
You can see here that none of the wires were disturbed by the clip or any part of the gun.

The wires were set into the side of the gun and ran through gaps i made with a dremel. This is how i achieved a working gun with no moving parts disturbing or being disturbed by the wires from the battery to the light.

The above picture shows how the wires sit behind absolutely everything, including the bolt sled and trigger(not shown). You can see to the left of the picture where gaps have been made to accomodate the wires. There are also two 'locks' there which had already been removed before i started this project.

Bit blurry, but this one you can see pretty clearly the switch/battery combination(self explanatory). But now the battery pack/holder. The grey box that the batteries sit in wad taken directly from the tactical light. With a bit of dremel work it fitted perfectly in the grip space. The 'secret dart holder had to be removed, once again with a dremel. Finally the switch seat. I made a cut into each side of the gun, equal on both. And glued the switch into place. The two lugs with screw holes on each end of the switch held it in place.

The whole side of the gun.

Whole side with clip inserted.
The finished product!!

I was happy with the way this mod turned out. Although the light wasn't all that useful(which it never is), i thought it looked good and I was happy with the design.

Website for upcoming forum up!

Hey, I have now secured the domain at which the forum will live. Now its just gotta be built. As it will be free i'm not gonna invest in a purchased forum rather a good quality free, open source one. The plans for the forum sections are open to change and any input from people as to what they would like to see would be great, just comment. :)

My crazy Maverick

Hey Guys. Just thought i'd start off with a post about my maverick, which is one of my most recent mods. So here it is....

As you can see, two barrels that rotate in and out of the gun.

The bits on the far side of the gun were removed to allow 2nd barrel to move through freely.

Side-on

Yes, I did use two barrels from different "era" Mavericks

Where the barrels are held in place a second gap on the right was made to accomodate a second barrel

'Barrel-locks' removed from both ends

Welcome to The Nerf Hub

Hi all, So, here it is. The Nerf Hub. I created this blog as a place where i could post my ventures with Nerf guns and mods that i have done. I have plans for a forum site that will allow anyone to post their mods, reviews and start discussions about Nerf in general. That, however is still under construction and planning and any ideas on methods for this other than what I have planned are welcome, just follow and comment. :)

P.S: As this blog and the now "under construction" forum are and will be free, you can, if you want donate towards this to help me fund this.
